This April, prepare to witness a once-in-a-great-while cosmic occurrence that is seeable in our area of Upstate New York.
Science.NASA.gov reported that on Monday, April 8, a total solar eclipse will envelope North America, crossing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. At around 11:07 am PDT, the first location in the continental U.S. to experience the eclipse in totality is Mexico’s Pacific Coast. The eclipse’s path will then continue into Mexico and through various parts of the central US into Upstate NY before entering Canada and exiting North America by way of Newfoundland at 5:16 pm, NDT. According to Science.NASA.gov, Upstate NY will experience the partial eclipse by 2:04 pm EDT, totality by 3:18 pm, and maximum eclipse by 3:20 pm.
We at Adirondack Film are excited for this natural phenomenon, and encourage all to visit our region to experience the eclipse for yourselves in all its heavenly glory.
